The Curse of a Dark, Deep Death -----+----- Here she was again, looking. Ever since the day she had ventured out of the underground cave where she woke up, she hasn't been able to find it since. She didn't exactly know why she wanted to find it so much, she didnt really mind not remembering who she was or how she'd gotten here. But, the whispers of the villagers about her 'curse' made her wonder. Surely her lovely powers weren't a curse; they allowed her to kill. That was more a blessing than anything. Deep, her octopus familiar, suddenly reached out and Dark heard a sickening snap. It was very rare one of the things running about in the woods tried to cross Dark, afterall even the scum that inhabited the woods knew just how dangerous it was to try anything. That came from living in the woods for so long, she supposed. Still, something had attempted something that Deep had picked up on, so she curiously tilted her head to look at the corpse in Deep's tentacle. A small baby thing, it was, probably to young to remember her inhabitance here in the woods since she'd left to take up residence closer to civilization. "Now, Deep, don't pick up trash" she scolded jokingly with a sneer as Deep tossed the thing aside. It landed limply on the ground, neck broken. Dark remembered her first encounter with a human, in these very woods, just a week or so after she'd woken up in the cave. It was the first time she discovered her water-manipulating abilities. When the man startled her, she'd simply lashed out and then the dark water had cut him all up. That was when she first discovered her attraction to blood, too. The thick substance as it leaked out of the body... as salty as saltwater and oh-so colorful. Standing in the middle of a group of trees, she shivered lightly as a tingle in remembrance of the blood went up her spine. "Deep" she began, the octopus shifting slightly on her back--for it was clinging onto her comfortably like a backpack--and anticipating her words. "I feel like hunting now, Deep. For old-times sake, hmm?" She asked, grinning now, knowing full well the consent the octopus would soon signal. -----+----- Open To Anyone Kiddies

♠ He was encased in darkness; unending night swirling around his very being. It was another nowhere created just for him, different than his usual butterfly filled one. No, this was made just to sooth his dark side, the personality the most insane of all, but none-the-less loved. ♠
♠ The room was calming, the inky blackness that seemed to suck away all life and light, like a benignant reflection of the 'black death' embracing him. His dark side waned slightly, and he suddenly found himself with his normal tastes. ♠
♠ It didn't make him less comfortable in the created night, but it did give him more motivation to stop drifting in no space. Seconds later he stepped out through a door that appeared only for him and Road [though she was a carefully guarded secret]. ♠
♠ He was in the haunted woods, he knew, the fear and violence was sweet in the air. Terror often was sweet. There was a sudden sour taste of death, but it was quickly (to his relief) covered by even greater fear. ♠
♠ He looked over, through the shadows of the trees, at what looked to be a girl wit an octopus on her back. Well wasn't that lovely? He grinned, all of his features hidden in the black shadows besides the sparkling white of his teeth, and the glittering gold of his eyes. ♠
♠ "Hello, my dear." ♠

Dark tilted her head towards the voice, seeing nothing but glowing gold eyes and teeth. Deep, however, assured her it was a person--and a formidable one at that as the octopus clung slightly tighter to her. Sensing Deep's tension, Dark narrowed her eyes at the man. She couldn't make out anything about him, but she was sure she had never heard that voice before.
"Evening" she replied, waiting and wondering if he'd heard any of her conversation--if he was going to make any trouble. All the while, she was trying not to act to rashly and keep a firm control over the need for blood pounding in the back of her mind. Truth be told, she hadn't touched a poor soul since she left the woods. Some bloodshed was really just long-overdue.
Even Deep was feeling the same carnivorous urge, being nearly the same as Dark in most ways, it came as no shock to Dark that the octopus was clenching and unclenching a tentacle around her arm in anticipation of a fight. Although, Dark leaving the woods had made her become aware of one thing; power, and opposition. In the woods, she could snatch up defenseless travelers and creatures without even so much as a punch back. She wondered to herself, how would a fight with someone formidable go?

♠ The Ace of Spades chuckled lightly, then closed his eyes momentarily so that he was completely obscured. He stepped forward, coming fully into the partial light of the woods. He had his full suit on again, gloves, jacket, top-hat and all. His dark side had yet to leave him completely, and it still mused lazily in the back of his mind, his voice sleepily murmuring about the girl before him. ♠
♠ Back at the asylum they'd tried to rid him of these voices, by every means possible, but with quite the opposite result. Honestly though, with how many patients there screaming for their own voices to stop, there might have been some reason for it, and it was hard to blame them (though he did); he, however, never felt any ill will or discontented feelings toward his dark and light sides. Truly, it was having them both that was the most exquisite pleasure for him. ♠
♠ The Ace stopped just two meters from where the girl stood, his full appearance made plain in the dim lighting. He tipped his hat to the girl regally, his golden eyes never leaving her face. ♠
♠ "A pleasure." ♠

She braced herself as he moved forwards, but as he stepped into the light it wasn't to strike her as she suspected. She took the time to observe his rather bold attire, a full suit even ending with a top-hat, to which she raised an eyebrow at. Dark never thought of clothes as something important really, sure they cover you and all but to go to such an extent as this man...She didn't know what to make of it. She had yet to see anyone dress so formally
The man ended up halting a good distance from her, not to close but not as far as he had been before. As he tipped his hat, she couldn't help the growing feeling of suspicion in her gut. Just what exactly was he going to do? Deep personified her feelings, wrapping its tentacle securely in place around her arm now. He spoke again. "Yes" she stated monotonically, nodding her head. She was holding her ground, deciding exactly what to do, what to do...

♠ The Ace of Spades noticed her discomfort right off. He could almost feel her uneasiness. It made his dark side tingle with delight, and he had to argue quite earnestly to keep himself from darting forward and grasping her fluttering heart in his hands. ♠
♠ It would have been so easy, really. He could grab a hold of it without exerting himself, and watch her face pale with panic as he squeezed... And then... then he could rip it out and watch it uselessly spurt beats of blood into the air.... ♠
♠ But this wasn't a good time the thought reasonably to his evil. He wasn't like those other fools, fighting with themselves. He was always completely relaxed, allowing each persona their turn. It his evil insisted, then the girl was doomed. She wasn't worth a fight after all. But like usual, this darker side backed off, just a bit. He was not deprived of opponents, after all, there were the rowdy face cards who seemed to resent taking orders. The darker side of his being always took the initiative then, and was never interrupted. ♠
♠ Oh, no. If his evil wanted out, he would be out without struggle or resistance, and of course the contrary-wise would also be in effect once his business was done. It was all rather civil. ♠
♠ The neutral persona; which may or may not have been the original, looked at the girl through sharp golden eyes. She was a monster of the sea perhaps? How unusual, and splendid. ♠
♠ "Oh, my. You seem tense, my dear!" ♠ ♠ He moved closer, so that he stood just two feet away from the girl. His lips formed a smirk, then decided to continue on into a grin, shaper than normal incisors showing. ♠
♠ "Do I make you nervous?" ♠

She was a bit confused. Why speak or advance in such a way without starting a fight? His words were beginning to annoy her. She has never been much for talking, her limited vocabulary from living so removed from the rest of the civilization maybe taking a small factor. She just didn't find it necessary. If the man wanted bloodshed, why was he not attacking? People could be so complicated in comparison to the simple laws of animal instinct.
Then he spoke again, moving closer to the point where Dark couldn't hide her own growing sneer. Her top lip lifted up slightly, unconsciously in an innate anamalistic gesture as she narrowed her eyes again at the man. She brought her hands slightly from her side, at the ready as she flexed her fingers. "Things like nervous aren't necessary" she stated monotonically, her odd grasp of words showing plainly. Deep slunk around her slowly to shift and to get a better view of the man. The octopus felt restless as it moved, as egar as Dark for some blood.

♠ The Ace smirked in amusement as the girl seemed to get more uncomfortable, and not only that, but he got the distinct impression that she was out for blood. Oh, yes, she seemed quite murderous. ♠
♠ The Ace tipped his hat a bit and looked at the girl with a wicked grin. ♠
♠ "Then what's wrong?" ♠ ♠ He thought about making an especially complicated sentence to tell her, since she was obviously having trouble with his words, but decided against it. He had plenty of time to provoke the fish-girl. He would take his time. His dark side laughed from the recesses of his mind. ♠

Dark held her ground, unmoving as Deep slithered around on her shoulders again. If this man wasn't going to do anything save for bore her with his taunting conversation, Dark had other things to kill. After all, she couldn't remember when she last feed Deep anything fresh.
"You are interrupting my hunt" She stated plainly, glaring at the man as she clenched and unclenched her fists. Must like the octopus did with it's tentacles. The relative silence between the two was interrupted as a skittering was heard through some nearby leaves, on instinct Dark's head snapped to the direction of the noise. Before Dark could even tell Deep anything, the octopus was already clenching the squirming creature in a tentacle as she lifted it up from the leaf pile.
I looked like a rabbit of some sort and Dark could sense the jolt of joy Deep had as she snapped it's neck with a screech. If the octopus had lips, it would have been grinning just as darkly as she was. Deep began eating the thing with loud crunches and snaps as Dark ignored the blood dripping on her shoulder. A trickle ran down the left side of her cheek and Dark promptly licked it off with a grin.

♠ The Ace watched the sudden action the octopus made with a slightly annoyed expression. With that action fish-girl told him that she was unimpressed by him. It was fine, sort of.. he hadn't done anything particularly impressive. ♠
♠ But still. It was annoying. Kill joy⇓. ♠
♠ The Spade General looked on disinterestedly as the octopus crunched on the rabbit, wondering randomly if it knew octopus meat was of higher quality than rabbit meat anyway. He almost voiced it, but he wasn't so far gone yet. ♠
♠ There was not real legitimate reason to stay, except that by staying he was avoiding his job - which he did a lot. Doing things on his own was how he got out of dealing with the rest of the cards. But if the fish-girl was killing within the White Queen's terretory... well, he could go somewhere with that. The Ace grinned in a way that was both creepy and disarming. ♠
♠ "Oh, well, I do beg your pardon, Miss. Don't mind me." ♠ ♠ He stepped dramatically to the side, then forward so that he stood beside her facing the opposite direction. He wasn't looking at her, but he still gave the impression of examining her. One gloved hand reached up to adjust his top hat, slanting it down over his hair a bit. ♠
♠ "Although... hunting here out in the open might not be such a good idea." ♠ ♠ He turned toward the girl and grinned handsomely, golden eyes glittering. ♠
♠ "A cute little thing like you might fall into trouble." ♠

Dark felt even more uncomfortable when he changed, standing beside her, and she skittered sideways an inch before remembering that an animal that didn't hold its ground was an easy kill. So, despite his unnerving presence, she stood still and half turned so she could keep an eye on him. Deep also moved, slinking most of her body towards Dark's shoulder--the furthest away from the man--as she finished her rabbit.
Dark continued to stare at the man as he spoke, but then he said something odd. Was it more confusing or surprising? She couldn't really say either or but it was definitely an odd thing to say. Now, she wasn't too entirely sure but didn't cute mean something along the lines of anything that was.... nonthreatening? Dark tilted her head to the side, squinting her eyes slightly at the man. "...Cute? ...Trouble?" She questioned aloud. That was another thing, he'd assumed she would fall into trouble. She'd heard many things about that word, but never anything along the lines of her being in it. Usually she was the cause of it.
"You... are an odd person, huh?" she asked, maintaining her posture. He seemed to like words, this odd guy. "Trouble is a thing i will never 'fall into', as you say" Dark said. "and I am not cute" she added, after a minute of thought on the matter.

♠ The Ace's eye had closed as he listened to both the awkward words of the girl and the vicious voices in his head. He began humming gently as it began to get quiet around him. Breaking the silence - his one and only tried crime and gateopener... ♠
♠ But the reminiscence was cut short by the octo-girl's next words. The Ace's humming staggered to a stop and his golden eyes flew open to look at the fish girl in surprise. ♠
♠ "I'm odd...?" ♠ ♠ He said it in the manner of someone who thought that was the last word anyone could use to describe them. As if the word actually surprised him. And it did. He hadn't been called 'odd' for years, since before he came here... and even then people were more likely to call him a lunatic... and here. Well, what wasn't odd here? It would be kinda useless to point it out, and then, when everybody's odd, no one is. At least that's what he thought. ♠
♠ The man shook his head. Well, maybe. Anyway he was able to recuperate in time for her next statement. His grin returned, just as bright and evil as before. ♠
♠ "Hm... well you might - hunting in the Queen's forest like you are. I mean, that's a pit-trap of trouble~!" ♠ ♠ Then his grin became a bit less evil, but more of something else that was just as creepy. ♠
♠ "And of course you're cute Fish-Girl A. I will only talk to cute girls." ♠
